Pallasites, gems from outer space!

 

What are you looking at is absolutely not a terrestrial rock! It’s a class of meteorites called Pallasites. Pallasites are stony-iron meteorites mainly containing iron-nickel alloy and olivine minerals. Their formation is still debated but many scientists state that they are samples from the mantle-core boundary of demolished objects by collision. In addition to their scientific importance, many collectors and dealers uses pallasites as pieces of jewelry and decoration. Imagine having a space rock on your neck!
